Raintree International School is pleased to share some exciting news with our community. In February 2026, the National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) presented us with a Platinum Level Accreditation, the highest award available under their Quality Counts framework.
This is a significant milestone for our three campuses in Bangkok. It reflects years of work from our teaching teams, our leadership, and the families who have trusted us with their children’s earliest years of learning.
What Is NDNA Platinum Accreditation?
National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) is one of the UK’s leading organisations in early years education, supporting nurseries and schools worldwide to improve the quality of care and learning they offer. “Quality Counts” is their independent benchmark of excellence, with Platinum representing the highest level of accreditation.
Achieving Platinum is a long and strict process. The assessment covers safeguarding, leadership, teaching, child development, and family partnerships. Not just as policies on paper, but as standards embedded in daily practice.
As part of the process, schools carry out a detailed self-review, spend time gathering evidence across their organisation, and complete an onsite assessment. Assessors observe classrooms, speak with teachers and leaders, and see first-hand how children learn, play, and develop.
Raintree International School worked closely during the whole process with NDNA and now joins a select group of early years schools worldwide to hold Platinum accreditation. The Quality Counts framework is used across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, making it one of the most respected quality benchmarks in early years education.
Why Early Years Accreditation Matters for Parents in Bangkok
The early years are widely recognised as one of the most important stages of a child’s development. This is when children build the foundations for communication, confidence, emotional wellbeing, and a love of learning that lasts well beyond preschool.
Independent accreditation matters because any school can describe its own values. Accreditation gives parents external confirmation that those values show up consistently in daily practice, assessed against the same framework used by leading UK settings.
How the NDNA Assessment Works
The NDNA assessment covered every part of Raintree’s early years provision:
- Safeguarding and wellbeing: ensuring every child’s safety and emotional wellbeing are central to every decision.
- Leadership and management: how the school supports staff and maintains standards across all three campuses.
- Teaching and learning: how educators create play-based experiences that support curiosity and development.
- Child development: how each child’s learning journey is observed and supported.
- Partnerships with families: how the school works alongside parents throughout the early years.
Rather than a single inspection day, the process evaluates the culture of a school and how consistently high standards are maintained over time.
